Cinnamon Rasin Swirl Oatmeal

Get ready for the smoothest, creamiest, most flavorful oatmeal of your life. A bowl of this stuff will put one of those wimpy packets of instant oatmeal to shame. This super quick and easy breakfast bowl tastes like a healthy and warm oatmeal raisin cookie. It will take you longer to read this blog post than to make the recipe, so it is a quick fix for rushed mornings when you still want a homemade breakfast. You only need these four nutritious ingredients: milk, oats, peanut butter, cinnamon, and raisins! 
The base of this oatmeal is oats of course! I just use the classic Quaker oats instant oatmeal, but if you have any other type of oats such as steel cut those work just as well. Oats are a staple of any healthy diet. They are packed with whole grains and fiber which means that even a small serving will keep you full until lunch time. Measure out a half a cup of oats and add them to a microwave safe bowl or large mug.

 Next you will need some milk. For this recipe I used classic 2% milk because I love the rich and creamy flavor it adds, but feel free to use almond or coconut milk instead. My only advice would be to steer clear of water, it tends to make the oats runny and bitter. Milk is a great source of calcium which keeps your teeth cavity-free and bones strong, and also packs a pretty good punch of protein. Add ½ cup of milk to the oats and microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds.
 Now for my personal favorite, the peanut butter! I usually use my homemade natural peanut butter with only peanuts as far as ingredients go. Use whatever nut butter you have on hand, almond butter, creamy, or crunchy peanut butter work just as well. The natural fats found in peanuts (and all other tree nuts for that matter) are what keeps your heart pumping and hair shiny. Remember: fats don’t make you fat


Once your oatmeal has finished cooking in the microwave, combine a spoonful of peanut butter with a handful of raisins and as much cinnamon as desired. Mix it together until everything is consistent and dig in! I like my oatmeal very thick, but feel free to add more milk if desired.


  1. ½ cup oats
  2. ½ cup milk
  3. 1 tbs natural peanut butter
  4. ¼ cup raisins
  5. Cinnamon to taste


  • Combine oats and milk, microwave for 1.5 minutes
  • Add peanut butter, cinnamon, and raisins to the hot oats and stir until thoroughly mixed
  • Enjoy a hearty and healthy breakfast!
